New Choices for an Active Lifestyle

Whether you’re an athlete, a work-out fanatic or someone who just enjoys the comfort of great athletic clothing and footwear, you’ll love two new stores opening soon at Huntington Mall.  OFFLINE and JD Sports will make their debut in the mall’s retail lineup this fall.

OFFLINE by Aerie is focused on activewear designed for real life, emphasizing comfort and movement. It offers a range of activewear, including leggings, sports bras, workout tops and more, made with soft and supportive fabrics. OFFLINE also incorporates sustainable practices, using some recycled fabrics and partnering with factories that focus on water reduction and recycling.  OFFLINE by Aerie is a sub-brand of Aerie, which is itself a part of American Eagle Outfitters.  It is no surprise that the new 4,400 square foot OFFLINE store will be located next to both of its “parent stores” in the JCPenney concourse.

JD Sports is the destination for must-have sneakers, sportswear and apparel from top brands like Nike, Jordan, New Balance, Puma, ASICS and its own private brands, such as Supply & Demand and Pink Soda Sport.  It also offers a wide selection of trendy casual clothing.  Established in 1981 with a single store in the northwest of England, the JD Group is a leading global omnichannel retailer of sports fashion and outdoor brands. The JD Group now has 4,850 stores across 49 countries (including franchises and joint ventures) with a strong presence in the UK, Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.

Honoring the Champions

Big Day for the Knights

When a school can celebrate a sports team winning a state championship, it’s a very big deal. When the same school can claim TWO state champions in the same year, that’s monumental.  That’s the case for Cabell Midland High School.  In the spring of this year, both its baseball and track teams captured their respective state titles in Class AAA.

Today, Huntington Mall honored both teams for their extraordinary victories at a Champions Rally in the mall’s Center Court.  Cabell County Schools Superintendent Tim Hardesty and Athletic Director Jason Bankston were on hand to congratulate the athletes.  Track Coach Chris Parsons recounted the season, thanked his assistant coaches and introduced the team members individually, as did Baseball Coach Tracy Brumfield.

The mall’s philanthropic arm, the Cafaro Foundation, presented the school with a $10,000 donation.  Each student-athlete also received a Huntington Mall Gift Card.
