New Choices for an Active Lifestyle

Whether you’re an athlete, a work-out fanatic or someone who just enjoys the comfort of great athletic clothing and footwear, you’ll love two new stores opening soon at Huntington Mall.  OFFLINE and JD Sports will make their debut in the mall’s retail lineup this fall.

OFFLINE by Aerie is focused on activewear designed for real life, emphasizing comfort and movement. It offers a range of activewear, including leggings, sports bras, workout tops and more, made with soft and supportive fabrics. OFFLINE also incorporates sustainable practices, using some recycled fabrics and partnering with factories that focus on water reduction and recycling.  OFFLINE by Aerie is a sub-brand of Aerie, which is itself a part of American Eagle Outfitters.  It is no surprise that the new 4,400 square foot OFFLINE store will be located next to both of its “parent stores” in the JCPenney concourse.

JD Sports is the destination for must-have sneakers, sportswear and apparel from top brands like Nike, Jordan, New Balance, Puma, ASICS and its own private brands, such as Supply & Demand and Pink Soda Sport.  It also offers a wide selection of trendy casual clothing.  Established in 1981 with a single store in the northwest of England, the JD Group is a leading global omnichannel retailer of sports fashion and outdoor brands. Haircuts and Heroes

Two New and Unusual Businesses Coming to Huntington

For a little kid, getting a haircut can be a very big deal.  Some children find it upsetting, even frightening.  It can create a lot of stress for parents.  Making haircuts hassle-free is the goal of Pigtails & Crewcuts, a new kind of hair salon created by parents for parents.  It will be arriving at the Huntington Mall Complex by late summer.  The salon will occupy approximately 3,000 square feet, located between Best Buy and Sleep Outfitters.

At Pigtails & Crewcuts, there’s plenty to keep kids relaxed and entertained.  Its highly-trained staff knows how to offer a stress-free experience to children with special needs.  Walk-ins are always welcome.  For parents whose schedules are jam-packed, Pigtails & Crewcuts can help.  Moms and dads can schedule haircuts for themselves in combination with their kids’ appointments. In addition to hair care services, Pigtails & Crewcuts offers a custom line of kid-centric hair products and accessories, gifts, and a private party room for birthday celebrations.

A trip to Superhero Creamery will take you back to some of the joys of your youth.  It features an eclectic mix of cool treats and collectibles.  It will be located in the JCPenney concourse, between Auntie Anne’s and Foot Locker.  When it opens late this year, the 4,600 square foot shop will serve up hand-dipped ice cream, frozen yogurt, comic books, toys, action figures, custom t-shirts and (why not) ceramic items suitable for painting and gifting.  Superhero Creamery originated in Ashland, Kentucky and is now bringing its special mixture of fun to West Virginia.

MINISO: Bringing the Fun

“Life is for Fun.” That’s the slogan of a new retailer coming soon to Huntington Mall in Barboursville, West Virginia.  Fun is also the best way to describe the products offered by MINISO.  This rapidly growing retailer will bring its broad selection of housewares and collectibles to a 3,000 square foot space between Journeys and Perfume Villa The store is scheduled to open in mid-summer.

MINISO (pronounced MINI-so) offers lifestyle products such as kitchenware, travel bags, health & beauty products, fashion accessories, small electronics, packaged food items, home storage, bathroom supplies and plush toys. The design flavor is distinctly Asian.  MINISO also features brands such as Sanrio, Disney’s Mickey and Friends, Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story, CN Network’s We Bare Bears and Minions.
