The prospects for military veterans staying COVID-free are getting better. The Veteran’s Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) will host vaccination clinics inside the former Sears building at Ohio Valley Mall in St. Clairsville, Ohio. On Saturday, March 20 and Saturday, April 10, eligible veterans will be able to avail themselves of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. This vaccine requires two doses given approximately 21 days apart at the same location. The first dose will be administered on March 20 and the second on April 10.
To schedule an appointment, Eligible Veterans should call the Belmont County VA Outpatient Clinic at 740-695-9321 at their earliest opportunity. VAPHS can only accommodate a limited number of Veterans during this clinic. Veterans will be scheduled in the order in which they make contact for an appointment.
Eligible Veterans are:
- 55 years or older
- eligible for and enrolled in VA health care
- receive health care at a VA Pittsburgh facility (including outpatient clinics)
- have NOT had any vaccinations in the past 14 days.
VAPHS cannot at this time provide the vaccine to civilians, including spouses and dependents, or Veterans who do not meet all four of the criteria listed above.
