And the winner is….Holey Rollers

The competition was stiff but a winner has emerged in the Small Shop Showdown, Ohio Valley Mall’s competitive search for the freshest, most interesting ideas for new businesses. A variety of budding entrepreneurs submitted their business plans, in the hope of winning six months of FREE RENT inside the mall.  After careful evaluation, representatives of the St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce and Ohio Valley Mall’s leasing staff selected Holey Rollers Donuts as the new business to serve customers inside Ohio Valley Mall.  It is locally owned by Jeremy Pasztor, of Bridgeport, Ohio.

For the past few years, Pasztor has operated Holey Rollers as a donut truck, taking his sweet, award-winning wares to events all over the Ohio Valley region.  Holey Rollers offers 144,000 different variations of donuts.  Some of the more popular flavors are S’mores, Samoa, cheesecake, blueberry pancake, French toast and buckeye.  All of the confections are made to order on-site, for ultimate freshness.

As the winner of the Small Shop Showdown, Holey Rollers will enjoy 26 weeks (six months) of FREE RENT inside the mall.  This new business will be able to take advantage of a prime location, 822 square feet of space near Center Court, from November 20, 2024 through May 20, 2025.  In addition to the rent-free store space, Holey Rollers will receive a package of promotional assistance to help get the business off the ground, including posters, a news release, digital signage and advertising on social media.

The Ohio Valley Mall is located on I-70, Exit 218-Mall Road, in St. Clairsville, Ohio. It features more than 100 fine retailers, restaurateurs and hotels.  Ohio Valley Mall is owned and managed as part of the Cafaro family of companies, based in Niles, Ohio.  For more information visit www.cafarocompany.com and www.ohiovalleymall.net.

How tough can it be when the rent is free?

Do you have a great idea for a retail business?  Maybe the only thing holding you back is the fear of what it would cost to rent store space.  Ohio Valley Mall, in partnership with the St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce, has a way to remove that fear for one budding retailer with the Small Shop Showdown.

Here’s how it works:  Between July 24 and September 4, 2024, pitch your potential business online at www.ohiovalleymall.net/smallshopshowdown.  Fill out the application form, explaining the business plan for your product or service.  Ohio Valley Mall’s leasing staff and representatives from the St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce will evaluate the proposals and announce one lucky winner on September 25.   The winner of the Small Shop Showdown will enjoy 26 weeks (six months) of FREE RENT inside the mall.  This new business will be able to take advantage of a prime location with lots of customer traffic from November 20, 2024 – May 20, 2025.

In addition to the rent-free store space, the winner will receive a package of promotional assistance to help get the business off the ground, including posters, a news release, digital signage and advertising on social media.  (Please note: The winner must be ready to open for business November 20, 2024.  A complete list of contest details and restrictions is available on the website.)

A Sand-sational Way to Greet Summer at Ohio Valley Mall

Is it time to hit the beach?  Well, maybe not quite yet but a trip to Ohio Valley Mall will make you feel like you’ve arrived.  Center Court will soon be the home to It’s a Sandsational Celebration.  From May 11-14, professional sand sculptors will turn over 20 tons of sand into a unique work of art with a theme that honors the local community.  Spectators are welcome to stop by, watch the sculptors work and maybe even pick up a few tips for their own creations.  It’s a Sandsational Celebration, sponsored by Belmont Savings, WTOV-TV and iHeart Radio, will be on display in Ohio Valley Mall’s Center Court for 12 weeks.

As part of the Sandsational Celebration, Ohio Valley Mall will host a Beach Party on Saturday, May 14, 11 AM – 2 PM.  At noon, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place in Center Court to officially welcome the sculpture to the mall.  The celebration will include musical entertainment, yard games, snacks and the chance to win a gift basket.

The creative force behind It’s a Sandsational Celebration will be sculptor Matt Long.  Since 2001, Long has created innumerable sand sculptures around the world for competitive, civic and corporate events.  He has placed in four World Championship competitions and was a cast member for the Travel Channel show Sand Masters.  He has created sand sculptures in far-flung venues like Thailand, New Zealand and New York’s Times Square.  Assisting Long will be fellow sculptors Brian Belcher, Brian Wigglesworth, Andy Daily, Greg Grady, Karen Fralich and Matthew Deibert.

The Ohio Valley Mall is located on I-70, Exit 218-Mall Road, in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
