One of the best

It’s an honor that is flattering but not greatly surprising.  The Millcreek Mall Complex, located next to Erie, Pennsylvania, has been named one of the state’s best shopping malls.  Publishers of the statewide website PennLive recently wrote a story decrying the oft-repeated cliche that shopping malls are “dying” and instead compiled a list of Pennsylvania’s nine best shopping destinations.  Millcreek was ranked as the third best of that elite list, ranking just behind the King of Prussia Mall near Philadelphia and Ross Park Mall near Pittsburgh.

The authors cited Millcreek Mall’s size, the 13th largest in the country according to, and its plethora of “unique shops and experiences that set it apart.” The authors further noted:

Bridal Elegance is an award-winning gown store. Primanti Bros. is a western Pennsylvania staple. The mall also has a family entertainment center with everything from bowling to karaoke. If shopping isn’t for you, the mall is also the home of the community library.

Number of stores: 182

PennLive’s top store picks: Bridal Elegance, Home Goods, Dicks, Build-a-Bear, Primanti Bros., Smokey Bones, Macy’s, Erie City and County Library.”
