BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WCHS) — A ribbon cutting was held at the Woody Williams Center for Advanced Learning and Careers in Barboursville on Thursday.

The center currently has 13 high school programs, with eight more planned to be added next school year. There are eight adult programs offered as well.

Programs offered include automotive technology, welding and carpentry.

“By having this modern facility and updated equipment, it allows our students to be workforce ready, to be able to walk into that position and know that they’re confident in what they’re doing,” director and principal Melissa Ash said.

Currently, there are 250 students that attend the center.

The 232,000 square foot facility is attached to the Huntington Mall and was re-purposed space from a former Sears department store.
