The Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council (EDC) is excited to share that Clarksville was named the hottest ZIP code in the country, and a recurring homebuyer favorite, according to a recent study by Opendoor.com

The digital real estate company ranked the Clarksville zip code 37042 at the top of the list for housing affordability and quality of life for 2022. Describing Clarksville as a thriving close-knit local community, close to the action in Nashville.

“Affordability and a strong school system are key drivers for the housing market, especially when choosing where to raise a family – Clarksville ranks high in both and has a great quality of life that draws people to the community.  With growth anticipated to continue, we are actively collaborating with the Regional Planning Commission and local government to plan for the future and ensure the area can meet the growing demand for attainable housing.” Buck Dellinger, Clarksville, Montgomery County Economic Development Council CEO said.

“When interacting with leaders from other communities, we constantly get asked the same question, “What’s the secret to your growth and success in Montgomery County?”  I always give the same answer, it is the people of Montgomery County that make it a special place to live, work, and serve. The combination of good people, top-notch schools for K-12 and beyond, and the beauty of the area, are all qualities people seek when looking for a place to call home. If you are involved in our community, this should not be a surprise,” Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden said.

“The location of 37042 in our community makes it a very attractive area to live.  It is near Fort Campbell, good schools, parks and recreation opportunities, and the road, sidewalk and utility infrastructure are all well positioned to keep up with growth,” City of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts said.

Palmetto Moon Rising at Governor’s Square Mall

If it’s possible to inject “southern flavor” into what you wear, you’ll find it at Palmetto Moon, opening next May at Governor’s Square Mall.  The new store will occupy a 3,400 square foot space next to Champs.  Palmetto Moon offers a broad selection of apparel, accessories, footwear, jewelry, coolers, drinkware and more for men, women and children.

Palmetto Moon was born in 2002 in Charleston, South Carolina.  Recognizing that most collegiate merchandise could only be purchased on campus, Karen and Robert Webster decided to offer fan apparel from local universities and South Carolina state products.  Their first kiosk in a shopping mall quickly put Palmetto Moon on the map as the go-to collegiate headquarters.  A southern lifestyle destination was born. Today, more than 35 Palmetto Moon stores are scattered across the southeastern United States.  The Clarksville store will be the third Tennessee location.

Governor’s Square Mall, located at 2801 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in Clarksville, Tennessee, has been serving the community since 1986.  It comprises over one million square feet of retail space, anchored by Dillards, Belk, JCPenney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target, Ross Dress for Less, and Burlington, plus more than 100 other specialty shops and services.  For more information, visit online at www.governorssquare.net.  Governor’s Square Mall is owned and operated as part of the Cafaro family of companies, based in Niles, Ohio.  For more information, log onto www.cafarocompany.com.
