Two new food court options are coming this summer to South Hill Mall in Puyallup. In a news release March 8, the mall announced that Sizzlin Spice and South Hill Gyros would join the business roster. Sizzlin Spice will offer traditional Indian cuisine and will feature “build your own bowls,” with an array of proteins, vegetables and sauces. Their menu will feature butter chicken and paneer tikka masala, as well as other meat and/or seafood options along with vegetarian and vegan dishes. The vendor will be located in the mall’s food court and set to open by June, according to the release, and will feature a clay oven in its food preparation, including baking traditional naan bread. South Hill Gyros also will debut this summer at the food court. The eatery will offer a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern-inspired menu, with chicken, lamb and beef gyros, kabobs, shawarma platters (typically featuring thin cuts of grilled meat with vegetables and sauce), dolma (stuffed grape leaves) and wraps, according to the release. TOP VIDEOS For those not seeking meat with their dish, the menu will include Greek salads and hummus served with pitas or naan bread. Desert items include ayran (a Turkish yogurt drink), baklava and Bakdash kulfi (Syrian ice cream on a stick), according to the release. Exact opening dates are still to be announced.

The South Sound just gained another entertainment center for all ages, and you can find it in Puyallup. Round1 will open its doors on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the South Hill Mall at 3500 S. Meridian. The first 300 customers who attend the grand opening at 10 a.m. that day will receive a Round1 t-shirt. The facility will be next to Macy’s. Round1 offers several arcade games, bowling lanes, billiards, pingpong, music and more. Visitors don’t pay an entrance fee. Instead, they pay for the games they choose to play.

The 52,000 square foot facility also has a lounge area where patrons can eat and drink. They’ll serve pizza, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, wings, burgers, soft drinks, draft beer, wine and liquor, according to the company’s website. Plans for private party rooms with karaoke are in the works.
